The intro text below from FFVI is pretty cool and I was thinking of extrapolating from there to make sense with our FC, and the Ceruleum-powered Magitek in Eorzea. Obviously I don't want to rip it outright but using VI as a source of inspiration only makes sense due to our FC's namesake.

People have used machinery to revive the world.

The general difference between FFVI and FFXIV Magitek lore is where the magical "power" comes from. In Eorzea, the power is extracted from crystals (presumably Aetherytes), while in the world of FFVI it is extracted from Espers and imbued into the machines.
The simple idea would be to create a reason for us coming together to revive the technology – the most logical reason is to band together to defeat the various threats to Eorzea by using the power of the crystals. It would be cool to develop our own story that loosely keeps in line with the current story but has a unique path of our own.

- Music
- Limitations in movement (we can't fly around, etc.)
I have the ability to edit but recording HD 1080p video with a good frame rate on high settings won't be possible on my current rig – which is a bit of a downer since I'd like to "shoot" it, as well.
If anyone wants to brainstorm some ideas with me, we can come up with a rough outline and start storyboarding some stuff out. Let me know!
