You won't get an argument from me there. Akihiko Yoshida has a whimsical, magical quality. He takes you to fantastic places. Nomura feels cold and too 'cool.'

Yoshitaka Amano has a great style, as well.

I always liked how Yoshitaka Amano's stuff feels like it's way older than it is, if that makes sense. Like it should be painted on ancient Japanese scrolls.

Yoshida said he'll still be working on FFXIV, so there's that.

SE needs an online print store. Just go through archives of concept art, add what you want to a cart, choose the size, pay and have it mailed to you for hanging etc.

Akihiko Yoshida, the veteran video game artist who has designed characters for Square Enix for nearly two decades, has announced his departure from the company in a rather unique manner. The designer, who joined Square Soft back in 1995 and has worked on titles like Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, announced he is leaving the company via an art book that came with the recently released Bravely Default: For the Sequel in Japan.
