The new tomes are Soldiery and you get Gerolt's items with them.
Gerolt's Masterworks
A host of new gear will be available in patch 2.2, offering players the edge they need to overcome the new challenges that await them. Among that new gear are Gerolt's masterworks, a new set of gear obtainable through the exchange of Allagan tomestones of soldiery.

This guy attending GDC asked Yoshi P. if he had any comments regarding the current lack of content that enables large FC groups to do stuff together.

Yoshi P. gave him a scoop…

With 2.2 and 2.3 they are planning to implement features, bonuses and incentives for FC members to do stuff together.

Very Disapointing… But it's ok because we can use GLAMOUR to change its looks :D
